SOOHYUN BAE

Soohyun Bae is a Seoul-based C-suite executive with 17+ years of experience across impact investing, venture building and organizational leadership. As a founding member of YELLOWDOG and Envisioning Partners — Korea's first institutional impact venture capital — she scaled the firm's assets under management fivefold and championed impact measurement as an industry standard. She is currently Chief Operating Officer and Chief Strategy Officer of Makeus (Dingo Music) and serves on the boards of ROOT IMPACT and Duroo, bringing deep expertise in entrepreneurial ecosystems and social impact to her role in the East Asia jury.

Soohyun Bae is the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Strategy Officer of Makeus (Dingo Music), one of Korea's largest digital music content platforms with 44 million subscribers. With over 17 years of experience spanning management consulting, impact investing, venture building and corporate leadership, she brings a rare combination of strategic depth and hands-on operational expertise across multiple industries and geographies.

Soohyun's guiding principle is that business can — and should — be a force for positive change. This belief has shaped every chapter of her career, from her early days co-developing Korea's national sustainability policy agenda as a McKinsey consultant, to pioneering institutional impact investing in Korea with a portfolio spanning Korea, the United States, and Singapore.

Beyond investing, Soohyun has built and led organizations from the ground up. She founded Collective Ground, one of Korea's first impact-driven co-working communities, providing a home for 20+ social innovation teams and pioneering the intersection of real estate and impact investment. Most recently, she was appointed COO of Makeus to lead a full organizational turnaround — restructuring the company, rebuilding revenue growth, and closing a complex secondary share transaction, delivering measurable results across all mandates.

Soohyun is also a recognized leader in Korea's entrepreneurship and impact ecosystem. She has served as East Asia Jury President of the Cartier Women's Initiative since 2019, championing women-led impact ventures across the region over seven consecutive years. She also serves on the boards of ROOT IMPACT, Korea's leading nonprofit social entrepreneur accelerator, and Duroo, Korea's leading public interest law nonprofit — reflecting her long-standing commitment to building a more equitable and sustainable society. Soohyun holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Seoul National University.
